Breaking Ground earns 3 ABC awards

JACKSONVILLE - Breaking Ground Contracting received three Excellence in Construction awards and an Award of Merit from the Florida First Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. Recognized were the Discovery Montessori School, winner of the Green Project of the Year Excellence Award and an Award of Merit for Institutional Projects; the Bethune Point Park Skateboard Facility; and a private residence in historic Springfield.

W.G. Mills, SchenkelShultz finish $69M high school

JACKSONVILLE - The design-build team of W.G. Mills Inc. and SchenkelShultz Architecture, Jacksonville, completed Duval County Public Schools’ new $69.5 million, 303,000sf Atlantic Coast High School, opening for students on Aug. 23 at 9735 R.G. Skinner Road, Jacksonville, near the intersection of SR 9A and Baymeadows Road.

LandSouth earns Grand AURORA award

JACKSONVILLE BEACH - On behalf of Integra Land Company, LandSouth Construction has been awarded one of the building industry's highest honors, an AURORA Award and the prestigious Grand AURORA Award, for Integra Shores at Daytona in Daytona Beach. Integra Shores was developed by Lake Mary-based Integra Land Company.

Cushman & Wakefield leases 27,000sf in June

JACKSONVILLE - The Cushman & Wakefield Jacksonville office team led by senior directors of office brokerage Bob Retherford and Buddy Register, together with office specialist Erika Bjork, announced seven lease transactions.

The Cushman & Wakefield office brokerage team represented the landlord in six of the transactions, and the tenant in one.

- Signet Diagnostic Imaging Services leased 8,300sf at University Industrial Park.

Stellar breaks ground on military projects

JACKSONVILLE - During the second quarter of 2010, Stellar, a construction, design, engineering and mechanical services firm, broke ground on three projects for the U.S. Army Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC) as part of its Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery (IDIQ) contract.

All of the design-build projects that broke ground in the second quarter of 2010 are for the U.S. Marine Corps, the largest of which is an Exchange in Camp Lejeune, N.C.

JACKSONVILLE - Breaking Ground Contracting received two awards from U.S. Green Building Council North Florida for Corporate Responsibility and Community Leadership. The annual Innovation Awards celebrate sustainability in action in North Florida and recognize those committed to building a sustainable community through their work in the built environment.

Liberty Jax office earns Rouse Award

JACKSONVILLE - Liberty Property Trust announced that it has received the 2009 Rouse Award. The award seeks to identify and recognize the top performing Liberty office in the past year.

In 2009, the Jacksonville office leased nearly 500,000sf office and industrial space, while maintaining low operating costs, exceeding net operating income targets and completing more than 19 tenant improvement projects. In addition, the company completed several building common area improvement projects.

Stellar celebrates 25th anniversary

JACKSONVILLE - Stellar, a construction, design, engineering and mechanical services firm, celebrated its 25-year anniversary on July 1.

Founded in 1985, Stellar began with only 12 employees and an emphasis on general contracting. Today, Stellar employs more than 500, and in addition to its Jacksonville headquarters, has 12 strategic support locations and an office in Dubai.

Diliberto Real Estate Auctions expands into Florida market

ST. AUGUSTINE - Diliberto Real Estate Services LLC announced its expansion to the East Coast market, launching a new operation in St. Augustine to be overseen by Douglas G. Dennison and Louis B. Fisher III.

Dennison will become manager of the Florida operation as Fisher joins the advisory committee of Diliberto Real Estate. The expansion announcement comes as Diliberto Real Estate has been chosen to advise Illinois-based K D C Consultants on the acquisition and disposition of up to $100 million in commercial, residential property and loan assets throughout the U.S.
