OAK completes work on College of Business
FORT MYERS - Owen-Ames-Kimball Company has completed construction of Florida Gulf Coast University’s Lutgert College of Business at the Fort Myers campus. Described as FGCU’s signature building, the 70,000sf, four-story building sits prominently at the university’s front entrance.
Visitors to the new building are greeted by a 20-foot stainless steel sculpture that rises from a step waterfall pool. Beyond is a dramatic 70-foot glass curtain wall entrance. The U-shaped building wraps around a central brick-finished protected courtyard area, which opens to the main campus.
The OAK construction team consisted of Scott Reynolds and Harold Shelton as job site superintendents, Vern Koch as assistant job site superintendent, Leo Smith as the project manager, and Patrick Conran as the general superintendent.
